globalization’s not so bad
i know about pinatas
from my childhood with
dora the explorer’s face
football shaped
and i was reminded of pinatas
from duolingo in my 20s
and living near sunset park
where i see them in shop windows
so anyway, i know im microplastic
disco ball boat paint glitter inside and out
i know i’m empty pointing at myself
in the mirror each morning “that’s me”
a mantric reminder like dora, a thief
and i want so desperately to be bashed
in with sticks and extracted for all i’ve got
globalization’s not so bad
i’m plastic, i’m pretty
im just a vessel, be my weapon
